Motorola on a war path
August 12, 2008
Or so it seems, given the code names that Motorola is baptizing its latest newborn. After Alexander, details of which has been leaked last week, the Motorola Atila is a Windows-Mobile based handset that like the iPhone has no keyboard.
The Motorola Atila is a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz) GSM/EDGE with a tri-band UMTS/HSPA. It will sport a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen, WiFi, Windows Mobile 6.1, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA with 1.8 Mbps HSUPA for broadband-like data speeds. With an appealing design, it is set to compete headlong with the 3G iPhone. But with other players like the HTC Touch Diamond and the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, it will be tough going for the Atila to capture a significant market share.
