A combination of worlds: Vodafone and Yahoo! unite

Mobile giants Vodafone have joined strategic forces with Yahoo! to combine their knowledge and expertise to create a mobile advertising business aimed specifically at mobile phone users.
The deal will see Yahoo! marketing teams working alongside their Vodafone counterparts to establish viable revenue streams from unique mobile advertising. The partnership is set to bring the venture to the public by the beginning of 2007. The implication for consumers is that they will enjoy savings on certain Vodafone service in return for receiving specifically targeted advertisements.
Marco Boerries, Senior Vice President of Yahoo! said that the union would "create a superior experience that delivers the most value to advertisers and mobile users alike."
