LG announced recently, that the competitively priced KP500 has exceeded the 10 million unit sales target they set for themselves back in April. The KP500's success this year has seen it become one of only five LG models to reach the10 million mark

Dan Quinn from gsmExchange said “the KP500's has regularly appeared in gsmExchange's top ten requests. It was definitely one of the most sought after phones in 2009”

LG attributed their success to their understanding of markets and their ability to adapt and offer features exclusive to particular markets.

The success of the Cookie has prompted LG to reveal that there is a successor for the KP500 ready for launch during 2010 and will be on show at MWC 2010 in Barcelona
